Okeford United Reserves 1 - 2 Poole Link

The reserves got off to a brilliant start in their first home match of the season with a truly fantastic goal in the 1st minute of the match.  A free kick was awarded on the edge of the centre circle, with Tony Wooldridge stepping up to take the kick.  He passed the ball five yards to Jo Brickwood who flicked the ball up and produced a shot from 35yards which ended up in the top right hand corner.

Okeford dominated the next fifteen minutes but gradually the visitors came back in to the game and after twenty minutes equalised.  Following a shot from the right that was pushed away by Richard Young in the home goal, a Poole striker followed up and slotted the ball in to the net.

The visitors then took the lead after 35minutes as they cut through the home defence to score.

The second half saw few chances for the first thirty minutes, but the home side pushed forward looking for the goal they needed, putting the visitors under pressure.  Alex Wright’s shot coming back off the post, denying Okeford a share of the points.

A good effort from the Butterboys, certainly not lacking fighting spirit despite five changes to last weeks winning team.
