The Reserves started this game well, Martin Adlem found himself completely unmarked on the edge of the box after receiving the ball, but thinking the whistle had gone for offside wasted his shot.  Five minutes later Jo Brickwood found himself in a great position only for his shot to lack power.

The home side took the lead after 25 minutes when the ball was lost in the Okeford defence.  The home striker was put through to slot the ball past the advancing keeper.  Half time 1-0.

Okeford United came off second best to Sturminster Newton in the first league encounter between the sides for many years.  In what was a scrappy affair the visitors prevailed 3-1.

Okeford had started the game brightly, and went 1-0 up just 10 minutes in to the game.  The referee spotted a push from the Sturminster keeper on Marc Doble, and pointed to the spot.  Olly Chaffey stepped up to convert the penalty.  The Butterboys continued to press forward, with Matt Jordan and Marc Doble both seeing efforts saved.

The Reserves worked hard to win only their second match of the season.  Right from the kick off the Reserves were passing and creating chances, the first came following a good passing move.  Chris Wareham crossed from the left, which was met by the sliding boot of teenager Richie Mason, who saw his effort come back off the cross bar.  Mason found himself in the same position five minutes later but this time he found the net to score his first goal for the club.

Okeford United Reserves 0 - 8 Portesham United

Oct

This was a poor performance from the Reserves which left them at the foot of the table.  The visitors raced in to an early lead, the home defense leaving John Mitchell in goal with no chance.  Further goals followed which made the score 3-0 at the break.

Little changed in the second period, with the visitors scoring at ease, teenager Rob Mason worked hard up front with no reward.

With eight regulars missing this was always going to be hard work for the Reserves, with many players now returning from injury or work commitments changes will be made.
