Okeford United Reserves 2 - 4 Donhead United

Feb
25

On a glorious afternoon the Reserves hosted Donhead who needed three points to go top of the league, and after forty-five minutes they were on target to achieve that.

Okeford who were fielding five different faces from the previous week, found themselves a goal down after 15 minutes when an excellent volley from just inside the box gave Martin Adlem, standing in for Lee Gray due to work commitments, no chance in goal.

Reserves fall to league leaders

Feb
18

The Reserves put in an excellent performance against the team currently top of the league.  The match was played in very windy conditions with it blowing across the pitch from the village end, corner to corner, the home side kicking with the wind in the first half.

The Butterboys got off to a great start in the second minute, Jo Brickwood played an excellent ball down the left wing to Chris Wareham who drove a perfect ball in to the edge of the six yard box for Richie Mason to fire home.

Rushton hat-trick not enough against Stourpaine

Feb
18

A hat-trick from Sean Rushton on debut was not enough to save Okeford from defeat to rivals Stourpaine by the odd goal in seven.

Okeford took the lead when Rushton, who recently signed from Gillingham Town, lobbed the advancing keeper following some good work by Luke Turk in the centre of midfield.  Stourpaine ensured the scores were level again by half time as Alex Wight held off the Okeford defenders following a long ball, and beat Richie Young from just inside the area.

Reserves Complete Cranborne Double

Jan
21

The Reserves picked up three important points in their battle to pull clear of the foot of the table and in the process may have found a star of the future in Sadik Ali.

Sadik was put straight in to the starting line up by the manager, this after coming on as a sub two weeks ago for just fifteen minutes, illness had kept him from playing in last weeks match.  The player was put up front with Jo Brickwood, and Richie Mason who had encouraged the new striker to join the club was dropped to the bench.

Okeford Stretch Winning Run

Jan
21

Okeford maintained their recent good form and eased to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Piddletrenthide United.

The first half was fairly evenly matched with Okeford just edging the chances in front of goal, even if they were not clear-cut.  Doble and Nelson both found shots saved from tight angles.  The Butterboys had Olly Chaffey to thank for keeping the scores level, as he made a superbly timed last ditch challenge having managed to catch the visiting striker who seemed to have been clean through on goal.

Portesham United 2 - 1 Okeford United Reserves

Jan
17

The Reserves put up another good all round display but came away from Weymouth with no points.

The match started very evenly, the home side seemed to think that they would have an easy afternoon following their comfortable win when they visited the Rec back in October, but the Reserves were a good match for their opponents.
