South Cheriton 2 - 1 Okeford United

Sep

This was the first ever meeting of these two clubs and it was the home side who took the points, but had to hang on to earn them.

Okeford took the lead in the tenth minute from a penalty following a needless handball, Olly Chaffey converted.

The home side put the visitors goal under pressure, and their hard work paid off with an equaliser in the 25th minute.  The home side should have been further ahead but missed easy chances, two of which hit the post.

Reserves open with away defeat

Sep
14

The Reserves kicked off their first league match by being beaten comfortably by a good side.

The first fifteen minutes started evenly with the only effort on goal coming from the visitors left back Sammy Cooper who had a 40 yard shot clear the bar.

The home side took the lead on fifteen minutes and doubled their score in the 18th minute, a further goal followed in the 28th minute and it would have been more if not good goal keeping from Rob Pierce and defending from Ryan Downing.

Okeford suffer opening day defeat

Sep
07

The Butterboys kicked off the new season with a home defeat to Witchampton by a score line of 3-0. A heavy rain storm just before kick off made the very dry surface a bit easier for the ball to move about.

It was the home side that started the brightest, passing the ball well.  Following good movement Olly Chaffey put George Stockton through on the right only for his weak shot to be easily dealt with by the keeper.

Back-to-back wins move Okeford up the table

May
17

Okeford got back-to-back league wins for the first time this season, and it couldn’t have come at a more important time.  The Butterboys started the day with three matches remaining, and only off the bottom of the table on goal difference.  A win in any of the remaining matches would see them move above Weymouth Sports and Sturminster Marshall, who had completed their fixtures and so wouldn’t be able to respond.

Okeford started well and took an early lead through Matt Drake.  He pounced on a mistake by the visitors ‘keeper who had fumbled a cross, and Drake slotted home.
