Former Butterboy Simon Harrison is to make an early return to the club, this time as manager of Dorchester A in the second round of the Senior Trophy on the 12th November. Simon was a member of the team that finished runners up in the Senior Trophy and Dorset Senior League last term.

Fixed Pitch Barrier Complete

Okeford Recreation Ground has seen the completion of the fixed pitch barrier this week.  Chairman Steve Corben thanked the committee and non committee members who contributed to the project for their efforts in its completion.  He said, “The whole thing looks great and is a credit to the club”.  He also thanked the Parish Council for their support with the barrier project.

Poole Link Withdraw From League

Poole Link have pulled out of Dorset League Division Three with immediate effect.  Poole won their first two games of the season, including one against our Reserve team 2-1 at the Rec.  Rumour has it that the manager was extremely disappointed after only two players turned up for training, so withdrew the team from the league.

Piddlehinton United 6 - 0 Okeford United Reserves

If you had left this match at half time you would not have believed the final outcome.  The first forty five minutes saw a very evenly matched game, both sides creating only a few chances.

The first fifteen minutes after the restart was much the same, until the home side broke the deadlock.  A second goal followed a few minutes later, which seemed to bring the visitors to life who came close on two occasions through the hard working Jo Brickwood.  However, the home side hit again with a good goal which left Tony Wooldridge in the Okeford goal with no chance.

Upwey and Broadwey made the trip back to Weymouth with all the points after a dramatic finish to the Dorset Senior League contest.   The first half was evenly contested, with both sides only managing to create a few half chances.

Galaxy FC 3 - 2 Okeford United Reserves

The Reserves lost this scrappy match, played on a very hard surface at Portland.  It was the home side who had the best of the starting play, but it was the Butterboys who took the lead after 20 minutes when a cross from Simon Park was met by Dave Jennings who caught the ball on the half volley to put past the home keeper.

Okeford United grabbed their first win of the season with a 2-0 win at Witchampton.  The game at Crichel Park got underway 20 minutes late following a mix up with the referee allocated to the game, with Neil Harrison stepping in to take charge of the match.
