Kingston Lacy 2 - 1 Okeford United

Okeford began their Dorset Senior League campaign with a narrow defeat to Kingston Lacy, going down 2-1.  Lacy went one nil up, scoring halfway through the first 45.  A free kick from the left wing was flicked on, falling at the feet of the Kingston Lacy striker to stab home from close range.  Matt Salisbury came close to equalising for Okeford 10 minutes later with a well struck first time volley from the edge of the area, however the ball having beaten the keeper rebounded off the right upright to safety.

The second half saw Okeford come out strongly, however Lacy doubled their lead on 55 minutes with a breakaway goal.  The Lacy striker latched on to a neat through ball and raced away beford slotting the ball into the bottom corner.  Again Okeford responded by created a couple of half chances.  Then on 65 minutes a corner from the right was met by the head of Daniel Jordan, whose downward header found the back of the net.  Okeford continued to create several other chances, with Lacy being put under increasing pressure, but they managed to hold on for the win.

Okeford United face Wareham Rangers next week in their first home game of the season.
